With Kumasi Asante Kotoko already crowned champions of this season’s Ghana Premier League, all eyes will be on four teams as they engage in a fight of survival to stay in the league in this season’s last round of matches.

With Elmina Sharks already condemned to division one football next season, nerves will be frayed in this weekend’s relegation dogfight to determine which two other sides pick the second and third division one football next season spot.

Heartache lies in store for two unlucky teams amongst four, Kumasi based Kingfaisal (39 points after winning 11, drawing 6 and losing 16), Real Tamale United (38 points after winning 9, drawing 11 and losing 13), Eleven Wonders (37 points, after winning 9, drawing 10 and losing 14) and the academy lads, West Africa Football Academy (35 points after winning 8, drawing 11 and losing 14) in a battle to avoid the drop to the dreaded football wilderness – Division One League.

Among these four teams, WAFA has the slimmest of chances considering the fact that, they would be playing as guest at CAM Park in Ayinase to the red hot Karela United, who currently occupy the fourth spot on the league log with 49 points and would also be hoping to seal the last top four spot after Kotoko (league champions), Medeama 56 points and Bechem United 53 points have already taken the top three spots. The academy boys need all three points and hope RTU lose to stand any chance of survival in the league.

Eleven Wonders, who were promoted to the league in 2017, have a huge task to win against Aduana at Dormaa to also have a any chance of staying in the league as they are currently third from the bottom with 37 points.

King Faisal have the highest survival probability as their fate lies in their own hands. They lock horns with Legon Cities, who are also eyeing the last top four spot. A draw against the “Royals” who are unbeaten in their last five matches would be enough to affirm their status in next season’s Premier League considering the fact that they have a bettee head to head against Eleven Wonders.

The last is the battle for supremacy and survival, as Glorious Accra Heart of Oak host the pride of the North, Real Tamale United in much at stake game. The Phobians have been dreadful in their past three games, losing all three. RTU are eagerly battling for survival and would need all three points against their Phobian counterparts to ensure survival, while the Phobians would also be hoping to finish in the Top four with a win. At the end of the day, it will boil down to who wants it more, and this should reflects on the hunger, thirst, aggression and desire on the match-day.
